Flappy Bird game seemed like a popular hit that was on top of the charts before its creator and founder Don Nguyen pulled it off line. In December 2013 Flappy Bird topped the charts of 1,500 free games in the United State and quickly spread to the rest of the world. The technology was very easy but the idea was brilliant. At its peak it would give earnings of $50,000 from adverts of the game. He launched an android version on January 2013 and within no time it hit the charts as No. 1 and stayed on top until February 2013 when Nguyen decided to pull it off the web stating that it was distracting his simple life.
The rise of Flappy Bird placed Nguyens upcoming company named Gears Studios at the center of attention. People became extremely addicted to touching and tapping their screens to direct the bird through pipes all day. This made Nguyen feel guilty for making a game that made people to be distracted in their work and falling victims of Flappy Bird game addiction, Such that he decided to pull it off the download site so that people would stop further downloads. In his tweet Nguyen said that he is planning to make a new game so as to the people forget about Flappy Bird.

Clones of Flappy Bird have risen to take over the success of Flappy Bird. Three months after Flappy bird’s closure, clones of the game are still popular in top download charts. For Fanatics of the Flappy bird game Nguyen says he plans to launch a revised version in the month of August that is inclusive of a multi-player feature. The new game to be released will have modern graphic features and added characters and he also claims that it will be not be addictive like Flappy Bird; it will have features that will make users pause between games.
